Astrometry software

• Plate solving with astrometry.net using the Gaia-DR2 catalogue.
• Sextractor is used to find the positions of objects in an image.
• WCSTools is a package of programs and a library of utility subroutines for setting and using the world coordinate systems (WCS) in the headers of FITS-format images to relate image pixels to sky coordinates.
• Astrometrica, primarily used for astrometry of asteroids, dwarf planets, TNOs and other such small bodies in the solar system. It is a Windows program which works adequately well under WINE on a Linux system.
