Photometry software
- AAVSO's Variable Star Plotter
- Russ Laher's Aperture Photometry Tool
-
comps is a Perl script which produces comparison star sequences in the B, V
and R photometric bands. It understands AAVSO's nomenclature for variable stars and Gaia alerts. It is
also capable of creating sequences for arbitrary positions in the sky. The functions of this script
and the following will probably be merged in a future release.
-
VSP2APT is a Perl-script which generates source-file in the format required by
APT from a photometry table downloaded from AAVSO's VSP. It also generates an optimized command line
for use by the astrometry.net plate solver and photometric data files for processing APT's output into
a BAA-VSS format TSV spreadsheet file.
-
APT2VSS is a Perl script to convert APT's instrumental.csv output file
into a TSV file suitable for uploading into the BAA-VSS
photometry database.
Very important! Read the source code before you run this script. You will need to make a few simple
changes to it with a text editor or you will be giving me credit for your observations!
-
IRAF/DAOPHOT,
primarily used for photometry on very crowded fields.
-
Astrometrica, primarily used for photometry of gravitational
microlensing candidates. It is a Windows program which works adequately well under WINE on a Linux
system.
